Shreya weds Kartik

In 2020, Shreya embarked on a new adventure, moving from Brisbane to Sydney Australia, leaving behind my family and friends. Feeling a bit lonely, she joined Bumble and swiped through a few profiles. That’s when Shreya stumbled upon Kartik. His profile caught my eye—he was an engineer like her and sported a Travis Scott hoodie, signalling they had a shared love for music.
Shreya swiped right, and their conversation took off with delightful nerdy banter. They decided to meet up, and he became the first person she went on a date with from the app. Then, COVID lockdowns hit, and Shreya feared our budding connection might fade. But love finds a way! They orchestrated sneaky visits and continued to date, growing closer despite the challenges.
The pivotal moment came when Shreya was moving apartments. With her parents coming to help, she nervously asked Kartik, “What do I introduce you as?” That’s when they decided to make their relationship official, just a month and a half into dating.

Fast forward three wonderful years, and Kartik planned a surprise for their anniversary in front of the Eiffel Tower. Shreya thought it was just a romantic dinner, but to her astonishment, Kartik got down on one knee and proposed and Shreya answered with an enthusiastic “Oui!”

Shreya & Kartik’s Wedding: A Celebration of Heritage, Love, and Cultures
Shreya and Kartik’s wedding was more than just a union—it was a journey of love, heritage, and the blending of two vibrant cultures. Kartik, a fourth-generation Fiji Indian, has deep ancestral roots in Rajasthan. His ancestors, originally from the region, were taken to Fiji as indentured labourers by the British in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Choosing Fateh Collections, in Udaipur, Rajasthan as their wedding destination was a deeply meaningful decision, allowing Kartik’s family and friends to reconnect with their heritage while celebrating this special occasion and Shreya to have her Grand Indian Wedding that she had dreamt of since she was a teenager.
Though Shreya and Kartik grew up overseas—Shreya in Papua New Guinea/Australia and Kartik in Fiji/Australia—they have always remained deeply connected to their Indian roots. Their wedding was a beautiful fusion of Indian traditions and Pacific influences, thoughtfully woven into every celebration. From the grandeur of Rajasthan to the warmth of the Pacific, the wedding was a heartfelt reflection of their journey.
Bringing this dream wedding to life was Castle and Coasters, whose seamless coordination made planning a wedding from Australia effortless. Despite the distance, they ensured Shreya and Kartik were involved in every decision, transforming Shreya’s vision as a bride into reality.
Shreya and Kartik wanted each event to have its own unique theme, creating a distinct experience for their guests—from deeply traditional ceremonies to elegant soirées, vibrant pop-Indian festivities, tropical Pacific-inspired moments, and glamorous, glitzy celebrations. Castle and Coasters ensured that each event reflected its own carefully curated atmosphere while seamlessly tying together the overarching vision. Every event was executed flawlessly, capturing the essence of their love story while honouring their cultural heritage.
Capturing these special moments was The Photo Lab, who were incredible from start to finish. From braving the scorching 40-degree heat during the pre-wedding shoot in June 2024 to documenting every magical moment of the wedding in February 2025, they went above and beyond to ensure every shot was picture-perfect.

Keeping the energy alive online, Shaadi Social did a fantastic job with their social media coverage. They created fun and engaging short reels that perfectly captured the joy, excitement, and beauty of the wedding. Their work kept the couple’s Instagram page, @singhskishadi, buzzing with memories, allowing friends and family near and far to be part of the celebrations.
This wedding was not just a ceremony; it was a vibrant tribute to love, legacy, and the coming together of cultures. It was an unforgettable experience for everyone who attended—one that celebrated the incredible traditions of Rajasthan while embracing the rich influences of the Pacific. Mehendi – Mela/ Carnival

The Mehendi celebration was a vibrant fusion of Pop Indian and Mela/Carnival vibes, bursting with colour, energy, and tradition. Set against the stunning backdrop of Fateh Villas, the evening unfolded with a live sunset painting the sky, adding a magical touch to the festivities. The décor was a lively spectacle of vibrant florals, pop Indian prints, and playful elements, bringing the festive spirit to life. A parrot reader, a stilt walker, and interactive stalls for bangle making and dye printing immersed guests in the joyful, carnival-like ambiance.

Shreya and Kartik embraced the theme in pink and orange tie-dye ensembles, mirroring the lively hues of the décor and setting the tone for a celebration filled with music, dance, and unforgettable memories.

Haldi – Traditional Pastels

The Haldi ceremony was a beautiful blend of tradition and festivity, set against a serene yet regal pastel Rajasthani theme. Held in the courtyard of Fateh Garh, the setting exuded a warm, homely charm, reminiscent of traditional celebrations in ancestral havelis. The décor featured soft pastels, intricate patterns, and heritage-inspired elements, creating an intimate yet grand ambiance.
Shreya and Kartik complemented the theme in pastel blue and yellow outfits—Shreya’s look was further elevated with delicate shell jewellery, adding a coastal charm that perfectly balanced the traditional essence with a fresh, bohemian touch. What began as a graceful, ritualistic Haldi ceremony soon transformed into a lively Holi party, with everyone drenched in colours, laughter, and pure joy!

Wedding – Royal/ Elegant

The Wedding was a royal and elegant affair, set against the majestic Fateh Villas as Shreya walked down the aisle, framed by its grand architecture. The mandap overlooked the breathtaking Udaipur skyline, with the sun setting behind it, casting a golden glow that transitioned into a starlit night. The décor was a floral paradise, embracing the beauty of nature with lush blooms and delicate foliage, creating an ethereal and timeless ambience.

Shreya was the epitome of a classic red bride, adorned in exquisite gold jewellery accented with green beads that beautifully complemented her ensemble. Kartik perfectly matched her elegance in a beige sherwani with subtle hints of red, making every moment of the ceremony a picture of grace, tradition, and grandeur.

Brunch – Pacific/ Tropical

The Pacific-themed brunch held at the Fateh Villas Pool was the perfect way to kick off their celebrations as a married couple, paying homage to their Pacific influences—Kartik’s Fijian roots and Shreya’s upbringing in Papua New Guinea. The décor embraced a vibrant tropical paradise, featuring lush flowers, towering palms, a giant clam, and a DJ booth surrounded by floaties, setting the stage for a lively poolside party.

Shreya exuded island elegance in a blue floral-themed palazzo set, while Kartik brought his signature flair in a self-customized shirt with a touch of glitter, both channelling fun, energetic Barbie and Ken vibes. The celebration was so full of joy and energy that by the end, no one could resist—the party spilled into the pool, making for an unforgettable, laughter-filled afternoon.

Sangeet – Glitz & Glam

The Sangeet was the ultimate grand finale, a dazzling Glitz and Glam affair that blended bold pops of colour with a chic black-and-white palette. The evening began with a walk down memory lane, featuring a photo wall showcasing Shreya & Kartik’s journey together, setting the tone for a night filled with love and nostalgia. The couple made an electrifying entrance, surrounded by CO2 bubbles and cold pyros, igniting the excitement for an unforgettable celebration. The night was a whirlwind of high-energy dance performances, heartfelt speeches, and pure joy, culminating in an epic after-party featuring a vibrant neon theme, percussionist, and water drums.

Shreya stunned in a custom-made, black-and-blue fish-cut lehenga adorned with shimmering diamantes, paired with a sculpted corset top, complemented by diamond jewellery with pops of blue that perfectly matched her ensemble. Kartik exuded effortless charm in a stylish, beaded Indo-Western Jodhpuri, embodying modern royalty. It was the perfect final hoorah, a night of glitz, glamour, and boundless celebration!

The Reception held in Jalaram Hall, Mumbai was a sophisticated affair, bringing together loved ones who couldn’t attend the Udaipur celebrations. Set against a classic, elegant white-themed décor, the evening was filled with warmth as guests gathered to bless the newlyweds.
Shreya embodied grace in a stunning white beaded saree, intricately adorned with shimmering embellishments that reflected the elegance of the occasion.

She paired it with delicate diamond jewellery, adding a timeless charm to her look. Kartik complemented her beautifully in a classic white short Jodhpuri, exuding understated sophistication. Together, they radiated elegance, making it a night to remember.
